Atlas Sound has added two new members to the large-format, constant-directivity speaker horn family, introducing the new AH6565CD and AH9040CD stadium horns at InfoComm 2005. The new models offer often-requested coverage patterns while providing excellent intelligibility in challenging environments.

Atlas Sound's AH9040CD is one of two new models in the company's large-format, constant-directivity speaker horn family.

Along with the previously released AH5040CD, the AH9040CD and the AH6565CD offer unique features for use in applications like school auditoriums, sports arenas, and baseball fields. The AH9040CD is optimized to provide a shorter throw and wider coverage (40x90 degrees) for applications like bleacher seating, in which the speaker may be in close proximity to the crowd. The AH6565CD offers a square coverage pattern (65x65 degrees) perfect for down-firing applications like convention centers.

The new AH series provides an extremely high output with outstanding pattern control and low-frequency response. So, when you’re listening to the national anthem from your seat in the nosebleed section, you know the sound projected from this speaker is virtually as true as an unplugged performance.

And they're weather-proof, thanks to the multiple mesh screens placed over the front of the large horn mouth opening, so rainy days at the ballpark won’t compromise the quality of the speaker.

Another popular feature of the whole AH family is extreme low-frequency response. They’re loud and low, so you’ll feel the bass of that music playback beating you in the chest.

They’re easy to install, too. A heavy-duty mounting bracket is included with each speaker, along with three drop forge eyebolts to make it easy to mount the speaker anywhere you want, from light poles to scoreboards.

“The addition of the two new AH series models completes the family and gives consultants and systems designers a larger variety of options to build most any system application,” says Steve Young, vice president of sales and marketing for Atlas Sound. “So far, people have been blown away by the quality these speakers provide. Whether they’re installed on drag strips or football fields, they are becoming very popular for a variety of venues.”
