Community’s new R.25 full-range, two-way, weatherproof loudspeaker includes an 8in. LF driver.

Community’s new R.25 full-range, two-way loudspeaker adds an 8in. LF driver model to the comprehensive line of R-Series weatherproof loudspeaker systems. The R.25 is the most compact model in the popular R-Series, measuring only 11.3"x11.3"x13.3".

The R.25 is built to provide high-quality voice and music performance in applications requiring long-term exposure to tough environmental conditions. Featuring a horn-loaded, high-power 8in. cone LF driver and coaxial HF compression driver with a weather-resistant diaphragm, the R.25 combines wide frequency range with excellent efficiency and projection ability.

Ferrofluid is used in the voice coil gaps to prevent corrosion, improve thermal power handling, and reduce power compression. The HF driver is coupled to a nominal 90x40-degree horn, and the HF horn assembly is coaxially mounted with the LF driver to minimize interference at crossover.

“Most small outdoor loudspeaker systems are good for either music reproduction or voice communication,” says Community President and Chief Engineer Bruce Howze. “We saw a desire in the market for an ultra-compact, weather-resistant loudspeaker with good projection, good vocal capability, and good musical performance. The horn-loaded R.25 was designed to meet that need.”

The combination of high-quality voice reproduction and music performance in a compact, weather-resistant system makes the R.25 ideally suited for use in waterparks, cruise ships, queue lines, sports venues, kiosks, concession stands, ticket counters, train platforms, and thousands of other applications. R.25s are also quite useful as fill speakers in systems comprised of larger R-Series loudspeakers.

Like the other loudspeakers in Community’s R-Series, the R.25 carries a 15-year warranty on the structural integrity of its enclosure. Weighing only 20lbs., the R.25 is molded of UV-resistant polyethylene and outfitted with Community's exclusive three-layer Weather-Stop grille. All exposed hardware on both models is stainless steel or aluminum. A weatherproof stainless steel mounting bracket is also included.

The R.25 is available from the factory in an optional weatherproof transformer version (model R.25-94TX) and a pole-mounted version with a black enclosure and black grille designed for public address applications and tripod stand mounting (model R.25PA). The R.25 incorporates a 12ft. 16-2 SJOW cable ingress; the PA version has a 1-3/8in. pole mount socket and NL4-compatible locking input connector.

All R.25 loudspeakers can serve as great point-and-shoot mini PA projectors with surprising bandwidth from an easily portable and discreetly sized package, and can also be combined with Community’s WET and R subwoofer systems for full-range, entertainment-quality sound.

The suggested retail price is $365 for the basic R.25, $415 for the 120W/70V transformer version, and $329 for the PA version.
