ETA Systems, a division of Twinsburg, Ohio-based National Biological Corp., has announced that they have been acquired by Powervar for an undisclosed amount.

ETA Systems is a manufacturer of high-quality power protection, distribution, and lighting control products for the audio/video industry. Its products are sold to broadcasters, recording and production studios, theaters, auditoriums, churches, schools, and live performing artists. They are also used for home theater applications. The company sells through distributors, contractors, and retail outlets throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Powervar is a leading manufacturer of high-end power quality solutions for mission-critical applications in health care, manufacturing, and other industries. “Powervar’s experience in designing and manufacturing power quality products is an excellent fit with ETA. And, their commitment to their customers is very consistent with ETA’s mission,” states Victor Pavona, ETA national sales manager. “We did our homework. When we approached POWERVAR, we already knew that they had an excellent reputation for products and service. We think this will be a win/win for everyone involved.”

Powervar will operate ETA Systems as a wholly owned subsidiary of Powervar and will continue to do business under the ETA Systems name. “Customers recognize the ETA Systems name and brand,” says George Lannert, Powervar’s president and CEO. “Our intention is to manufacture ETA’s products at our Waukegan facility while maintaining the ETA business model, product family, sales force, and distribution channel.”

Dennis Ver Mulm, Powervar’s director of marketing, adds, “ETA’s product family supported by Powervar’s experience, low cost manufacturing, product logistics, and marketing acumen will allow ETA Systems to compete very aggressively.”
