Colin Bernard, the newly appointed director of Canadian operations for the new Lectrosonics Canadian office, located in Toronto.

Lectrosonics has opened a sales and service office in Toronto to provide in-country support to the company's expanding customer base in the Canadian market. Colin Bernard has been appointed director of Canadian operations, with Joe Burtinsky in charge of the new office's warranty repair facility.

"The Canadian market has grown substantially in the past year as end users have become increasingly aware of Lectrosonics products and have come to value their performance and reliability," comments Bernard. "This new office reinforces Lectrosonics' total commitment to Canadian customers and, with more local-intensive marketing and promotional support to our dealer base in Canada, will further spur the company's growth. Plus, with this new office, Lectrosonics dealers and customers have a direct conduit for service and technical expertise."

Bernard joins Lectrosonics from Sennheiser (Canada), which was formed in 1995 after TC Electronic relinquished its exclusive Canadian distribution arrangement to Sennheiser in Germany. Bernard, who was vice president of the TC Electronic pro division, remained with Sennheiser after the transition, assuming various regional and national roles, including product manager for Neumann Berlin and national sales/marketing manager for Sennheiser's professional division in Canada.

According to Gordon Moore, vice president of sales at Lectrosonics: "We are pleased to have Mr. Bernard and Mr. Burtinsky joining Lectrosonics, as they represent our commitment to Canadian customers for both market and technical support. Their professionalism and dedication mesh perfectly with the rest of the Lectrosonics family.

"Mr. Bernard's familiarity with video, film and theater production, broadcast, industrial OEM, and MI/pro audio markets in Canada provide him with an excellent background for his new position with us. His established relationships with major theater sound designers and top Canadian artists will play an important role as Lectrosonics continues to expand in those areas."
