Change comes to all things, so it necessarily comes to S&VC magazine. Permit me to introduce the new editor. His name is Nat Hecht. He comes from Newton, MA, and received an engineering degree from Tufts University in 1984. He's been in about every corner of the sound business, working for E. U. Wurlitzer, the huge music store in Boston, and running his own sound company, Audible Sound, in Boston. In 1988, he joined Everything Audio in Los Angeles, and designed for and sold to recording studios. Then he joined JBL, where he was an applications engineer and did customer training and technical writing, eventually becoming product manager for Soundcraft. He then went to work for the USA distributor of DAS loudspeakers, then opening and running the DAS office in the United States.

Nat Hecht brings new ideas and a new point of view. Over time, the magazine will change. How could it not? I changed it when I took over as editor, and changed it almost continuously during my tenure. Here's something, however, that won't change. Nat Hecht will make S&VC provide real service to the professional careers of its readers. And then do it all over again next month.
