SONIC FOUNDRY HONORS ORGANIZATIONS THAT USE MEDIASITE TO TRANSFORM THE WAY THEY COMMUNICATE

Sonic Foundry, a leader in automated rich media communications technology, today announced the finalists for its second annual Rich Media Impact Awards program. Sonic Foundry will recognize 22 organizations across eight categories at a special awards luncheon Thursday, June 8 in Orlando during InfoComm 2006. Winners will be announced at that time.

Mediasite is a transformational communication medium for delivering critical information and sharing knowledge. The Mediasite webcasting and content management system automates the capture and delivery of presentations and lectures via the web. Sonic Foundry launched the Rich Media Impact Awards program last year to recognize excellence in the practical and creative integration of its webcasting technology in business, education, health and government. Finalists successfully demonstrate how rich media transformed their organizations through measurable improvements in accessibility, cost savings, efficiency and productivity.

"We could not have offered such an award just five years ago, and now organizations throughout the world are using this technology across multiple disciplines for the betterment of those they serve," said Darrin Coulson, senior vice president of worldwide field operations, Sonic Foundry. "The caliber of this year's finalists has increased in direct proportion to the generous number of nominations we received. The bar has truly been raised."
