Rack

Middle Atlantic Products TechPed series technology pedestal is designed to provide localized and discrete equipment mounting in huddle rooms, conference rooms, and other collaboration spaces. The TechPed is a simple-to-integrate, easy-to-service conference table support system that houses equipment and cables. The TechPed incorporates the company’s Frame to Furniture design, an installer-friendly approach that eliminates long waits, speeds up integration, and reduces the effects of transit damage, according to the company. The inner steel rack frame ships directly from stock, allowing integrators to begin the integration of the system immediately. The outer surfaces are shipped separately to the installation site or shop and can be quickly and easily attached to the core structure to cover the metal and complete the installation. It’s available in three sizes and in several standard color choices; a custom millwork kit option is also available that provides detailed shop drawings for a woodworker to create a customized look for the TechPed and mounting hardware to attach it to the frame.

Presentation Platform

Crestron AirMedia Presentation Gateway (AM-100) allows anyone to walk into a room and wirelessly present PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and PDF documents, as well as photos on the room display from their personal iOS or Android mobile device. MacBook and PC laptops can be connected seamlessly as well. Users connect via the local Wi-Fi network to share mobile content. Presenters using a Mac or PC can connect to AirMedia without any special software installed, while iPad and other mobile device users can download the free AirMedia app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play.

Presentation System

Vaddio’s GroupStation and HuddleStation are designed for mobile laptop or tablet users to enable their computer applications for group collaboration and presentation meetings. By connecting a laptop or tablet directly into the GroupStation or HuddleStation dock, users can add HD video, wideband audio microphones, and a loudspeaker system to their collaboration and presentation software. GroupStation consists of a table-based MicPod dock and a wall-mounted sound bar that incorporates an HD camera in its center. The MicPod dock functions as a microphone, speakerphone, user interface, and laptop/tablet dock. Four microphones, each with its own independent acoustic echo canceller, provide a 360-degree pickup pattern. Vaddio’s SmartMic technology ensures that clear audio is maintained for far-end participants with hands-free operation. PC or tablet connections include HDMI or VGA to locally extend the PC’s display output to the room display. The sound bar incorporates two audiophile-quality dual two-way loudspeaker systems with independent acoustically tuned enclosures. Two separate 30W Class-D amplifiers independently power each loudspeaker system. The integrated broadcast-quality HD camera features a 19X optical zoom lens and a Quick-Set manual pan/tilt adjustment for easy camera set up. System power, Ethernet network, HDMI, and MicPod dock connectors are all located on the back of the sound bar. The HuddleStation is identical to the GroupStation, but is tailored for smaller meeting rooms typically designed to accommodate four to six people. HuddleStation has a very wide-angle (82-degree) camera lens specifically designed for the challenges of getting everyone in the camera shot. Also, the MicPod dock microphone audio system has been tuned to eliminate the echo and increased room noise that occurs in smaller spaces.

Cable Access Enclosure

From the Cable Cubby Series/2 line of cable access enclosures, the Extron Electronics Cable Cubby 500 and the Cable Cubby 700 join the previously announced Cable Cubby 1200 low-profile enclosure and Cable Cubby 1400 double-sided enclosures. These modular enclosures support the AV industry’s range of available AV connectivity and AC power options, including Extron Retractor cable retraction modules, Architectural Adapter Plates (AAP), and AV cables. AC power modules are available for the U.S., Europe, and other major world markets. The Cable Cubby 500 and Cable Cubby 700 are available in a black anodized or brushed aluminum finish. All Cable Cubby Series/2 enclosures are engineered for fast assembly and installation on the job site. A simple integrated clamp system secures the Cable Cubby Series/2 enclosures to the furniture surface. The patent-pending, modular design allows convenient installation or replacement of AV cables or AAPs from the top of the enclosure, after it’s installed. The Cable Pass-Through Plate features a split-ring design that facilitates cable installation while eliminating the need for separate cable grommets. The AAP Plate can be pre-populated and cabled before installation within the enclosure. Most AC 100 Series AC Power Modules provide two unswitched AC outlets. To support the charging of smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices in AV presentation environments, the optional AC+USB 200 series power modules provide one or two AC power outlets, plus two 5 VDC USB power outlets with 2.1A/10.5W of total power.

Conference Phone

The Revolabs FLX UC 500 USB conference phone is equipped with four embedded microphones, a wider frequency response, and higher power than typical USB audio devices, according to the company, bringing professional-grade sound to unified communication applications such as instant messenger services, softphone calls, or webinars at a new price/performance ratio. Designed specifically for conference rooms, small offices, and home offices, the device furthers its high-level audio clarity using straight-from-the-box echo cancellation without any additional processing required while offering full duplex support for simultaneous audio capture and playback. Users can listen to external audio or link the system to a laptop, PC, or tablet for use with Skype, Microsoft Lync, Cisco Jabber, IBM Sametime, WebEx, and many other applications.

Wireless Microphone System

RevolabsExecutive Elite is a 4- or 8-channel wireless microphone system. Using a new distributed architecture, the system’s remote antenna receiver and base units connect via a standard Cat-6 cable with power over Ethernet (PoE) support to facilitate installations. As a result, the system’s remote antenna receiver unit can be placed in the same room as wireless microphones, easing installation while vastly improving wireless connectivity. Executive Elite’s new redesigned microphones feature an elegant look and feel, superior audio pickup, improved signal-to-noise ratio, easy operation, and enhanced digital signal communication over wireless links, according to the company. For longer talk times, the various microphone types allow for up to 12 hours of continual usage and intelligently conserve power when not in use. To reach beyond the system’s standard four or eight microphone channels, the Executive Elite receiver can be synchronized with other systems, allowing up to 80 (Americas) or 160 (rest of world) audio channels for its wireless microphones in any given deployment.

Power Unit

Belkin’s Meeting Room Power Center (B2E025-06-BLK) provides easy tabletop access to surge-protected AC power outlets and USB charging ports. The new power solution eliminates the inconvenience of plugging into a floor power strip and the disruption of losing battery power during collaborative situations. Four surge outlets and eight USB charging ports supply simultaneous power to multiple computing devices and peripherals, including tablets, smartphones, laptops, and projectors. The heavy base keeps the hub stable on the conference room table, and the 1080-Joule energy rating provides power protection for sensitive mobile devices.

User Interface

The Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) CX7 is a wired user interface for control over AV, environmental, and security systems in any setting, from the kitchen to the boardroom. The CX7 is equipped with an adjustable tilt 7in. multi-touch capacitive touchscreen LCD, analog audio and video inputs, stereo speakers, and wired and wireless Ethernet. The unit also features wired 10/100 Base-T and wireless Ethernet, which provide two-way control and feedback, access to Web pages, video from network security cameras, and convenient programming. In addition, a built-in camera and microphone will offer intercom capabilities in the future. Proximity and light sensors automatically bring the unit to life when it’s approached by an end-user. For ease of installation, the CX7’s display can be lifted straight up, laid nearly flat, tilted at any level in-between, or the unit can even be inverted and mounted under a cabinet. The CX7 features multiple power source options, such as the included power supply and Power over Ethernet (PoE). Built-in IR provides direct control of devices without the need for a separate control processor.
