Kramer Electronics announced the availability of the VM-5DS distribution amplifier. This high-bandwidth DA accepts one composite video and one unbalanced stereo audio input, provides correct buffering and isolation, and distributes the signal to five identical video and audio outputs, plus one scaled output so the unit can be integrated in presentation systems.

The VM-5DS offers 360MHz bandwidth at -3dB, ensuring transparent performance. High bandwidth makes this distribution amplifier ideal for video and audio duplication applications as well as CCTV and other monitoring applications. Scaled output allows the VM-5DS to pass a wide range of resolutions including VGA (640×480), SVGA (800×600), XGA (1024×768), and WXGA (1366×768). Resolution is specified using a convenient front-panel selector.

Rear-panel trimmers on the VM-5DS allow for video gain and EQ control for applications where the signals must travel long distances, as well as independent control of the left and right audio levels. The unit also has looping inputs with buttons for termination and video AC/DC coupling. The VM-5DS frame fits in one vertical space of a standard 19in. professional rack enclosure and is fed from a 90-240 VAC universal switching power supply.

The VM-5DS sells in the United States at a list price of $795 and is currently in stock and available from Kramer Electronics sales companies around the world.
