Customers at high-end audio/video retailers across the country now have the chance to brighten their living rooms and home theaters with sunny beaches, rainforest waterfalls, fluttering butterflies, and tropical fish, thanks to the Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA). The buying group, which represents successful retailers nationwide who generate more than $500 million in annual revenue, is now offering a unique program that includes Screen Dreams’ colorful, animated DVD screensavers for flat-panel TVs to all 53 of its member retailers.
“Screen Dreams’ DVD screensavers are a natural complement to the state-of-the-art home theater equipment our members sell every day,” says Richard Glikes, executive director of the HTSA. “We already provide the most cutting-edge home entertainment, and these screensavers help us offer customers even more. Now, even when a customer’s flat-panel TV or home theater is switched off, a Screen Dreams’ screensaver can transform the blank screen into a colorful nature scene that brightens and enlivens the room.”
Adapted from the world’s most popular computer screensavers, Screen Dreams’ Living Series DVDs include the Living Marine Aquarium, which turns a flat-panel screen into a virtual tropical aquarium with colorful fish and coral; Living Beaches, which delivers sunny sand and surf; Living Waterfalls, which transports viewers to jungle and forest locations with cascading water; and Living Butterflies, which enchants viewers with butterflies fluttering over rolling hills, flowers, and grassy fields.
HTSA helps its members better serve their customers by recommending leading-edge products and services, producing national marketing materials, forging strategic vendor relationships, and hosting several conferences each year. HTSA members include specialty retailers such as Hifi House, Harvey Electronics, Wilshire Home Entertainment, and Home Theater Store. HTSA’s relationship with Screen Dreams began when Screen Dreams’ founder and president, Stephen Spivak, demonstrated the product at the recent CEDIA conference in Indianapolis.
“It’s gratifying to receive such a ringing endorsement from an organization as discriminating and influential as HTSA,” Spivak says. “Our screensavers are an innovative and entertaining value-add for any home entertainment center, and we’re looking forward to brightening more living rooms and home theaters across America with stunningly realistic, relaxing natural scenes.”
Each Screen Dreams DVD contains 90-103 minutes of total content, with natural sound effects and background music in Dolby Digital audio. The DVDs can be played with or without music and sound effects, in any combination, and set to loop continuously and switch periodically between three animated scenes. Each DVD retails for $19.99, and is available at www.ScreenDreamsDVD.com.
