Let the CEDIA Expo 2010 Planning Begin

Aug 18, 2010 10:58 AM

CEDIA Expo is just around the corner; time to start planning how you will spend your time in Atlanta. CEDIA has made it easier than ever to connect with the Expo, even before the show starts. The new “Follow Me” application can connect you with CEDIA Expo at the push of a button. Plan your schedule, review courses, and set up meetings. Continue using this app as the week progresses to view the interactive show schedule, floor maps, and event schedules, and to download ebrochures from manufacturers. The Follow Me app is available at www.cedia.org/expo.

If you prefer to make your plans from your computer and not your phone, Map Your Show can help you put together your schedule. Search the floor plan by featured exhibitor, company name, or product category. Add exhibitors to your MyShow Planner to create your personal list of must-see exhibitors. A custom map is then created, showing you exactly where your exhibitors are on the show floor. The MyShow Planner can also be printed out and brought to CEDIA Expo for easy reference while on the actual show floor. You can also check in at one of the Map My Show kiosks to update or check your schedule.

Follow live updates straight from CEDIA Expo this year with rAVe publications. Check it out now at ravepubs.com/cediaexpo.

Don’t forget to connect with CEDIA using the social networks you already use. Follow CEDIA on Twitter @CEDIAnameric, find us on Facebook at facebook.com/CEDIA.region2, or join the CEDIA group on LinkedIn, and stay connected with what is going on at the expo.

Energy Audit Certification and Information Session

Last March, CEDIA hosted a Power Hour webinar focusing on conducting energy audits. The response from attendees was clear: energy audit certification needed to be included in the offerings at CEDIA Expo. CEDIA is expanding training and certification opportunities to include energy audits with the help of the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) and the Home Energy Team Institute (HETI). CEDIA will be offering an informational session on Sept. 25, for those who missed the webinar or still have questions about energy audits. In addition, HETI will be offering two RESNET certifications at this year’s expo: Home Energy Survey Professional (HESP) certification and the Qualified EnergySmart Contractor certification.

RESNET is a standards-making organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, and the mortgage industry. Both certifications require the completion of an online course prior to arriving at CEDIA Expo. For more information on the course, visit www.homeenergyteaminstitute.com. Plus, CEDIA members receive a special discount on training and certification. Stay tuned for more information on energy audits at www.cedia.org/sustainable_lifestyles.
