BTX ProBlox Serves Broadcast and AV Markets

BTX Technologies has introduced a multi-connector system that provides a single connector for multiple signals.

BTX Technologies, manufacturer of professional interface and integration products, has introduced a multi-connector system that provides a single connector for multiple signals. According to company officials, the ProBlox system aims to ease set-up and teardown for broadcast and pro AV installers, saving time and money in the field.

Intended as a cost-effective solution for bundling numerous signals, the ProBlox system combines 16 coax and 26 audio/data/control contacts in a single multi-connector. The ProBlox is field-terminatable and custom-configurable for numerous combinations, and can be used wherever HDTV, video, VGA, analog/digital audio, control signals, or DC power need to be fed to a single location. Built from rugged components and offering 75-ohm video contacts for an HD signal, the system reduces the number of individual connectors for a clean, finished look.

“The ProBlox system is designed to make set-up in schools, conference rooms, auditoriums, houses of worship, and mobile trucks so simple that even a non-technical user can handle it,” said Greg Schwartz, president of BTX. “With the ProBlox system, everything is in one connector, and because of the economical price point, it saves both money and time.”

Company officials would not reveal pricing. The ProBlox system is scheduled to be available in June 2008.
