In response to an increased demand for classroom technology, Calypso Control has hired Greg Wright as vice president of sales and marketing to help it put technology integration and control into more schools nationwide, according to company officials.

“Now more than ever, schools are using technology and integrated AV systems to enhance the learning experience,” said David H. Parish, president of Calypso Systems, in a statement. “With the expansion of our sales and marketing team, we can get these innovative products and classroom solutions to more students and schools around the country.”

As vice president of sales and marketing, Wright will be responsible for strengthening the company’s national sales and marketing functions, and developing and overseeing the strategies, tactics, and programs to maximize K-12 market opportunities for the company.

“It is often awkward for teachers to switch between classroom technology sources and as a result the full potential of these tools is rarely realized,” said Wright. “Calypso Systems and I are committed to providing cost-effective solutions to help make these tools seamless to use together, ultimately helping students reach their maximum potential.”

Before joining Calypso Systems, Wright was senior vice president and general manager for the Renaissance Electronics Division of Renaissance Learning, a supplier of education technology products for the K-12 market. Earlier in his career, Wright held senior management positions at Harman International, Telex Communications, and Northrop Grumman.
