Christie Launches LED Videowall Solution

Christie has launched the company's first LED-based SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution projection display system for control room and videowall applications. The new Entero LED is an LED-illuminated, single-chip DLP product line that features a low-maintenance design. The LEDs are rated at more than 50,000 hours, which equate more than five years of operation. According to Christie, with no lamps, filters, or color wheels to replace, the Entero LED delivers uninterrupted, 24/7 performance for exceptional reliability and low cost of ownership.

The new Entero LED is an LED-illuminated, single-chip DLP product line that features a low-maintenance design. The LEDs are rated at more than 50,000 hours, which equate more than five years of operation, says the company. According to Christie, with no lamps, filters, or color wheels to replace, the Entero LED delivers uninterrupted, 24/7 performance for exceptional reliability and low cost of ownership.

Using the latest generation of solid-state LED technology, the Christie Entero LED projection system offers long life for control rooms. Because LEDs retain their color spectral characteristics longer, says the company, images remain vivid and sharp through years of operation. LEDs also provide accurate color matching and a wide range of brightness control and adjustments. Additionally, the company says the red, green, and blue LEDs can be sequenced at higher rates than those of a mechanical color wheel, which keeps visible artifacts to a minimum.

Entero units feature built-in Christie LiteLOC and Christie ColorLOC for automatic, independent brightness and color management. The projectors also feature Christie ArrayLOC, a technology that the company says automatically matches color and brightness levels for every cube across the entire display wall on a continuous basis. The result is a control room solution for videowalls of any size, without the need for constant maintenance and adjustments that may disrupt operation and lead to unproductive downtime.

“The new Christie Entero line of LED-based rear projection modules?are as close to ‘worry free’ as you can get in a videowall display solution,” said Jim Gavloski, director of product management at Christie, in a statement. “It marks a major new development in reliable, high-performance videowall solutions that are easier to maintain and more economical to operate.”

With 600 ANSI lumens of brightness, the Christie Entero LED projection engine can illuminate Christie’s 50-, 67-, and 72-inch display cube platforms, which feature cross prism optical screen technology for higher brightness and wider angles of view. Sealed optics eliminate the need for dust filters, while “heat pipe” cooling technology minimizes audible noise.
