The Emmy Goes to…

Faroudja, a division of Sage Inc., was awarded its third Emmy by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Faroudja's 30 years of video experience earned the company the award for “Pioneering Development of an HDTV Upconverter,” which recognizes a suite of technologies that is instrumental in converting ordinary standard-definition content into high-definition video.

Zenith Electronics received an Emmy for its development of flat-screen CRT television technology. Although the company phased out CRT manufacturing several years ago, the technology has been licensed to others, and FTM displays today are sold throughout the world. This award marks Zenith's fourth Emmy.
