Crestron Joins USGBC

Crestron is now a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the nonprofit organization responsible for the LEED Green Building Rating System (see “Greening Lessons” in the Jan. 2007 AV Intelligence section of PRO AV). The company believes this decision will emphasize its commitment to the green building movement and benefit dealers integrating Crestron control systems in projects applying for LEED certification.

“We’ve designed and manufactured environmentally efficient solutions for decades,” said Randy Klein, executive vice president of Crestron, in a statement. “Our goal in joining the USGBC is to share our expertise and experience in controlling and managing systems to maximize energy conservation and cost savings.”

Energy-efficient features in Crestron products include lighting and shade control and automatic shut-off functions.
