A seminar that’s set to launch the company’s “Fiber Tour” will be held on April 1, 2008, at the Ohana Honolulu Airport Hotel in Hawaii. The seminars are intended for pro AV and broadcast professionals who work with signal distribution technology and systems in commercial, military, and education environments. Topics and practices will include the basics of fiber optic technology, the economics of fiber versus copper signal distribution, the practical side of working with fiber cable and products, the impact of HDTV on fiber technology, the new standard for HDTV distribution over fiber (SMPTE 297-2006), pro AV applications using fiber, broadcast applications using fiber, using an optical power meter, and a demonstration of field termination of fiber cable.
