Da-Lite Screen Co. achieved the GreenGuard Environmental Institute’s certification for low emitting projection screen fabrics. The achievement joins the Children & Schools Certification for low-emitting AV equipment used in sensitive environments such as daycares, schools, and healthcare facilities in contributing to the company’s Screen Green program.
The Institute awarded GreenGuard certification to five of Da-Lite’s proprietary projection screen fabrics: High Contrast Matte White, Video Spectra 1.5, Silver Matte, Matte White, and High Power.
The GreenGuard Environmental Institute is an independent, nonprofit organization that oversees the GreenGuard Certification Program for low-emitting products. As an ANSI Authorized Standards Developer, it establishes acceptable indoor air standards for indoor products, environments, and buildings. According to the Institute, children in the United States miss over six million school days per year due to asthma alone, and the EPA estimates that half of U.S. schools have indoor air quality problems. The specification and use of GreenGuard Certified products reportedly can reduce the levels of pollutants in the indoor air.
