Sharp expanded its suite of WXGA projectors with the new PG-F255W. The DLP BrilliantColor projector emits 2,500 ANSI lumens with a 2,200:1 contrast ratio, and it displays 720p from HD sources and 1280×800 (16:10 aspect ratio) WXGA resolution from new PCs. Quiet cooling fans reduce distracting noise while a filter-free DLP sealed system prevents dust, dirt, and smoke from entering and potentially damaging core parts of the optics, says the company. At only 6.4 pounds, the PG-F255W can be ceiling mounted for permanent installation, operated from a table top or AV cart, or used in rear-Âprojection mode. Price: $1,495.
