Electrosonic Separates Product, Integration Groups

Electrosonic announced major changes to its products division, which now operates as a separate entity from Electrosonic’s AV integration business. As a result, company officials said, the products division is now actively seeking resellers.
The new product division’s line includes video and graphics over IP encoders and decoders, which provide high-quality DVI, RGB, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SDI video transmission over IP networks for Broadcast, pro AV, and command-and-control applications, and features Electrosonic’s PURE3 codec for IP network transmission; HD video players, such as the JPEG2000 and MPEG2 stand-alone and networkable HD video players and the new ES9600, which supports bit rates up to 25 Mbs and resolutions up to 2K and 3D applications; and multiimage display processors, including a full line of products for acquiring, transporting, compositing, and displaying multiple images on video walls and single displays.
The Electrosonic products division, with its own engineers, managers, sales force, and technical support staff, operates from three offices: Dartford in the United Kingdom, and Minneapolis and Burbank, Calif., in the United States.
“With our eye on future trends in the AV world, our independently operating products and solutions division will help in achieving the diverse objectives and demands of our customers,” said Electrosonic president Jim Bowie, in a statement. “Our new Web site will serve to clearly inform clients, distributors, and resellers on the separation between our products and services.”
