Former Tweeter VP Moves to Crestron

Crestron announced the appointment of former Tweeter vice president Steve Samson as its new director of business and market development.

Crestron announced the appointment of former Tweeter vice president Steve Samson as its new director of business and market development. In his new role with Crestron, Samson will be responsible for strategic partners, such as Microsoft, Cisco, Texas Instruments, and Armstrong; strategic markets, like hospitality and health care; and the company’s Integrated Partner Program.

“Steve has a vast and wide array of experience and success in our industry,” said Randy Klein, Crestron executive vice president, in a statement. “His skills and accomplishments will certainly be a great asset to our team.”

As vice president of systems design and engineering at Tweeter for the past five years, Samson was responsible for creating the go-to-market strategies at the core of Tweeter’s solutions-based business, which included sales, installation, merchandizing, overseas manufacturing, store development, and training initiatives.

Before joining Tweeter, Samson was founder and president of Savi Technologies, a Florida-based custom design and installation firm, for 15 years. Samson was one of the first dealers to adopt the total systems integration concept of blending lighting control and security with high-performance, whole-house AV and home theater systems, says the company. Leveraging his engineering background, he developed relationships through consultation and design services to retailers, manufacturers, architects, and developers.
