Glowpoint Helps Promote Green Meetings through Coalition

Glowpoint, an IP-based managed video communications service provider, joined the Carbon Free Meeting Coalition as a Founding Member organization.

Glowpoint, an IP-based managed video communications service provider, joined the Carbon Free Meeting Coalition as a Founding Member organization. Glowpoint teamed with the organization as part of its focus on green initiatives and efforts to expand the use, measurement, and recognition of video communications as a critical tool in corporate “green meetings” and other energy sustainability programs.

“Glowpoint represents all levels of video communication services, from high-definition telepresence VNOC capabilities and IP broadcasting solutions to traditional video conferencing and Web collaboration tools,” said Stu Gold, founder and executive director of the Carbon Free Meeting Coalition, in a statement. “They are an organization that delivers a wide spectrum of advanced communication and network technologies that can easily be integrated into the environmental initiatives for companies around the world.”

The Carbon Free Meeting Coalition acts as a conduit for companies and technology providers interested in the reduction of carbon emissions through the use of advanced communications. By providing information and program initiatives to help companies implement and sustain advanced visual communication, Web collaboration, and state-of-the-art audio conferencing technologies, the Coalition supports its mission to further increase the use, measurement, recognition, and value of advanced communication technologies as a critical tool in carbon footprint reduction and energy sustainability programs across a variety of organizations.

“We are very pleased that our diverse communications solutions demonstrate that technology can play a key role in carbon footprint reduction and sustainable energy programs,” said Jonathan Brust, vice president, sales and marketing for Glowpoint. “We are excited to see that the Carbon Free Meeting Coalition has been formed to give a greater voice to these value propositions and are excited to work within the Coalition, and with other member organizations and individuals, to continue to find new ways to implement and support the use of these technologies as part of corporate Green programs.”
