The Harman Pro Group announced the promotion of Michael MacDonald to the newly created position of executive vice president of marketing and sales. Based at the group’s Northridge, Calif., headquarters, MacDonald will continue to report directly to Blake Augsburger, president and CEO of the Harman Pro Group.

MacDonald rejoined the Harman Pro Group in January 2007 as executive vice president of marketing, itself a newly created position. From 2003 to 2007, he was founder and president of Pilot Business Strategies, a consulting firm that served a number of professional audio, video and security companies.

MacDonald first joined the Harman team in 1996 when he was vice president of installed sound at JBL Professional. He spent six years developing products and strategies to improve equipment that serves both the production and fixed installation sectors. He served the last four years as president of JBL Professional.

“Harman’s global customer base of sound professionals is entitled to expect the best of both worlds: individual brand excellence coupled with integrated system solution expertise,” MacDonald said.
