HiQnet Strikes Up the Band

Spawned from HiQnet System Architect software, HiQnet Band Manager is a free user interface that unlocks the loudspeaker processing capabilities of Crown XTi series amplifiers for the portable PA market, according to Crown.

Spawned from HiQnet System Architect software, HiQnet Band Manager is a free user interface that unlocks the loudspeaker processing capabilities of Crown XTi series amplifiers for the portable PA market, according to Crown.

Band Manager detects up to eight USB-connected XTi amps, representing them in a virtual rack on-screen. The Home screen displays monitor strips for each amp, as well as front-of-house EQ and level control. EQ for stage monitors and other processing is accessible on an individual amp basis.

"We envision Band Manager being used to manage an entire portable PA sound system all the way from microphone to speaker," says Andy Flint, marketing manager for Crown. "It's no longer enough to provide the user with quality equipment. You need to offer user-friendly tools as well."

Band Manager currently operates only with Crown XTi amplifiers, but there are plans for it to control other Harman HiQnet products in the future.
