InFocus Adapts DisplayLink for Macs
Recognizing the growing population of Macintosh users around the globe, InFocus Corp. announced the availability of DisplayLink support for Mac, a display driver that allows Intel-based Apple computers to transmit audio and video content over a standard USB connection for instant setup with DisplayLink-enabled InFocus projectors.

“With the growing popularity of Mac users on the rise, InFocus continues to meet market demands, as evidenced the release of the InFocus DisplayLink Mac Driver–enabling users to create an even more collaborative and productive meeting environment through instant set-up and multi-presentation options,” said David Woolf, vice president of global marketing for InFocus.
By using the DisplayLink feature, Mac-based presenters can take advantage of “plug-and-project” convenience by connecting a standard USB2.0 cable to the projector. The DisplayLink Mac driver is immediately detected by the computer and will configure with the DisplayLink enabled InFocus projector setting. The driver’s multi-display capability makes it possible to project up to four projectors simultaneously from a single computer, which allows users to create video walls or create presentation of multiple contents during meetings. According to the company, this feature is an ideal solution for videoconferences and collaborative meetings where two or more live broadcasts need to be shown at once.
The DisplayLink Mac Driver doesn’t require any additional InFocus-specific control software, and only needs one USB cable instead of the analog PC cable and PC adaptor normally needed for Mac use. Additionally, set-up adjustments can be controlled through the computer’s own video settings. The driver supports connectivity to DisplayLink enabled InFocus projectors using Intel-based Apple computers running minimum Apple OS X, Tiger 10.4.11, or Leopard 10.5.5. Supported models include Mac Mini (Intel), MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro.
