L-Acoustics announced the launch of its new K1/KUDO Pilot Program, which will be offered primarily to current members of the DOSC Network who are also V-DOSC and KUDO owners with an interest in advanced field proofing of the new K1/KUDO/LA8 system architecture for stadium and arena applications. The announcement follows the recent unveiling of a V-DOSC sequel and the future creation of a global DOSC Network.

The program is expected to last 24 months, considered a necessary amount of time prior to the official launch of the future stadium line array system. K1/KUDO Pilot rental companies will work closely with L-Acoustics’ research and development team and technical support. Emphasis will be on preset validation, stadium systems configuration design, rigging, and general system setup and operation. Rental K1/KUDO Pilot companies will be offered an opportunity to own the system before its formal market introduction.

“We are pleased with the positive responses we have had from our Prolight invitation among our existing V-DOSC and KUDO users,” said Stephane Ecalle, marketing director at L-Acoustics, in a statement. “The interest and feedback we are currently getting on the K1/KUDO/LA8 system approach and the redeployment of the DOSC Network concept is encouraging. The new DOSC Network chart covers important concepts of minimum inventories, rental market segmentation, the adoption of a unified world standard with the new amplified controllers, and strong emphasis on user education.”

“This all translates into more efficiency, as well as a need for fewer and much smaller horns to achieve the same results of what formerly required larger horns,” said Marlin. “You obtain a much more impressive low-frequency response and more sensitivity out of the driver as well, and the horizontal coverage pattern is more precisely controlled over the entire frequency range.”

Audiences can expect to see and hear the results of the program on national tours in the coming months.
