The 8000 Series Media Command Center (MCC-8000) from Avitech is a multi-source display processor that offers signal monitoring solutions for pro AV, security, and broadcast applications. The processor’s signal monitoring options include HD, SD, analog audio and video, digital audio, embedded audio, or computer-generated graphics. The processor can be controlled by Avitech’s Cosmos or Galaxy control software, and its open ASCII protocol supports third-party control systems. Clarity Visual Systems has added the Bobcat X and Bay Cat X LCD displays to its Direct View product line. The 40-inch Bobcat X (pictured here) offers 1366×768 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 500 nits brightness, and an 800:1 contrast ratio. The 46-inch Bay Cat X features 1920×1080 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and an 8 ms response time. Both models measure less than 4 inches deep and offer sensor-based backlight control, anti-reflective/anti-glare protective screen faceplate technology, and remote monitoring of display status and performance. Doremi labs has introduced the V1-HD video disk recorder and the MCS-HD multi-channel JPEG2000 video compression-based HD video servers. The V1-HD (pictured here), which features HD-SDI and SDI in/out, functions as a drop-in replacement for any HD VTR. In a film or video mastering environment, the V1-HD can record compressed SD and HD video. The MCS-HD is a four-channel HD video server that offers two record and two play high-definition video channels with shared storage and selectable compression rates. The unit’s front panel mimics familiar VTR controls and is compatible with Odetics and VDCP automation protocols, as well as Sony nine-pin machine control. Price: N/A. The SM (Super Mini) compandor-free wireless transmitter from Lectrosonics features a 100 dB signal-to-noise ratio and a flat frequency response rate to 20 kHz. It incorporates the company’s Digital Hybrid Wireless technology, which provides 24-bit digital audio and analog FM signal transmission methods to encode digital signals into an analog format for transmission over a UHF FM carrier. The NEXUS automation solution from Leightronix is an all-in-one system designed for multi-channel digital video playback and recording, digital messaging, DVD/VCR machine control, and AV signal routing applications. The stand-alone system is managed via a network using the company’s WinNEXUS software. A built-in Ethernet port and front-panel setup enables connection to a LAN, a WAN, or the Internet. The system includes a media resource library for entry management and scheduling of digital, videotape, and DVD programming. The RGB-5000 from Multidyne is a long-haul transport solution for RGB or VGA video sources via a single fiber at resolutions up to 1600×1200. It supports analog bandwidth of up to 600 MHz, in addition to RGB, XVGA, SVGA, and UXGA video standards, and component and analog HDTV signals. The RGB-5000 features 3.125 Gb/s data throughput without compression. Symetrix has added the Orion 8088 configurable DSP processor to its Studio Matrix Line. The unit offers eight analog line-level inputs and outputs, which can be routed, processed, and matrixed within the onboard Analog Devices SHARC processors. The Orion 8808 is targeted for use in applications such as automatic gain control for satellite receivers, filtering and dynamics control of signals from telephone hybrids, normalizing signals from servers and other delivery devices, silence monitoring, and management of multiple microphone signals. Designed to recognize a video format before passing it through, Gefen’s 4×2 HD-SDI switcher, 1:4 HD-SDI splitter, and HD-SDI-to-DVI conversion box are serial data interface solutions. The 4×2 HD-SDI switcher (pictured here) connects four sources to one or two displays, enabling multiple connections without networking. The 1:4 SDI splitter reads and splits the format of one source’s video and sends it to four displays simultaneously. Targeted for use in large audience applications, the Roadie 25K three-chip DLP projector from Christie features 25,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, 2K resolution, and a 1,500:1 contrast ratio. The projector is compatible with sources from VGA through QXGA and all types of HDTV signals. The projector offers 10-bit digital processing, picture-in-picture, high-bandwidth signal processing, and optional warping and seamless switching capabilities. The DM-3200 48-channel digital audio console from Tascam offers 16 rotary encoders with LED indicators to display mixer settings, 16 busses and eight auxiliary busses, and 17 touch-sensitive 100 mm motorized faders. The console is available with an optional IF-SM/DM surround monitoring card for multichannel monitor and downmix capabilities and an IF-FW/DM 24-channel FireWire interface card that increases the unit’s computer interface and control surface capabilities. The Chief Manufacturing FMA-220 dual horizontal array and the FMA-320 triple horizontal array are designed to be used with the company’s line of articulating arm mounts. The arrays offer adjustments for locking displays in desired viewing positions and sliding side-to-side, which are both done by hand. The arrays feature Chief’s Centris technology for gravity-centered tilt adjustments that self-adjust to hold different display weights. Both arrays are available in silver and black. Belden’s CDT Electronics Division has added the 9451P single-pair construction and 9451DP Siamese construction cables to its plenum-rated Brilliance analog audio cable line. The cables are designed for use in sports arenas, boardrooms, convention centers, houses of worship, and post-production facilities. The Brilliance 9451P and 9451DP cables feature twisted pairs with 22 AWG-tinned copper conductors and fluorinated ethylene propylene insulation. Communications Specialties has added the 7223, 7225, and 7227 drop-and-repeat fiber optic receivers for RGB and stereo audio to its Pure Digital Fiberlink 7220 Series. The 7223 offers four baseband outputs of high-resolution RGB, each with stereo audio; the 7225 features one baseband output of high-resolution RGB with stereo audio and one optical loop-through output; and the 7227 offers four baseband outputs of high-resolution RGB, each with stereo audio and one optical loop-through output. Each model transmits and receives optical signals over a single fiber and supports video resolutions from VGA to WXGA, and HDTV resolutions such as 420p, 720p, and 1080i (in RGBHV format only).
