Elite Screens announced it has added two new acoustically transparent screen materials to its assortment of products: the AcousticPro and the CineWhite-Perforated.

Acoustically transparent projection screen material has small holes in it that act as a sieve for sound waves to penetrate. The Acoustic Pro is a woven material; the CineWhite-Perforated is made of PVC with small punched holes. According to Elite, both new materials maximize sound penetration while controlling the size and frequency of sonic passages.

“We have received numerous requests for acoustically transparent materials to use with in-wall speakers so we developed both woven and perforated PVC tension variants that come close to mirroring one another with their performance,” said Dave Rodgers, marketing manager for Elite Screens, in statement.

Additionally, Elite’s new Wraith Veil can be used in fixed frame screens for brightly lit environments, such as tradeshows, conferences, schools, and outdoor evening presentations.

The Acoustic Pro material is made for VMAX2, Home2, Home3, CineTension2, and CineTension3 retractable projection screens, starting at $799. CineWhite-Perforated screen material is made for Elite’s EZ-Frame and Elite Prime Vision fixed frame screens with prices starting at $899. The Wraith Veil projection material and AcousticPro are currently available. CineWhite is due to arrive in May.
