Hosa Technology has introduced new HDMI cables that support HD formats up to 1080p as well as all current surround sound formats up to 7.1.

The HDMI cables offer 10.2 Gbps bandwidth for uncompressed high-definition video and multichannel audio transmission, and are HDMI 1.3b Category 2 certified for compatibility with the next generation of HDMI formats. This feature makes the cables suitable for interconnecting AV system components, including cable/satellite receivers/DVRs, DVD and Blu-ray disc players, AV receivers, game consoles, and HD video displays, according to the company.

Hosa constructed the HDMI cables with gold-plated Type-A connectors and Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) conductors, minimizing signal attenuation. Each cable provides OFC braided and Al-Mylar shielding, a combination that results in complete EMI and RFI rejection. The cables also incorporate air-injected dielectrics for consistent cable geometry that minimizes signal reflections.

“Hosa’s new HDMI cables enable today’s AV systems to deliver superior performance for both video and audio,” said Jonathan Pusey, national marketing manager for Hosa Technology, in a statement. “Our cables conform to the highest HDMI specification and, as a result, customers can be assured the best possible performance from their AV system components.”

The new HDMI cables are now available for an MSRP range of $34.80 for 3 feet to $324 for 50 feet.
