Networked audio matrix system

The NetMax N8000 from Electro-Voice is a networkable, modular digital audio matrix system that offers six different matrix layouts. The system features up to 32 channels of digital audio, a more than 118 dB dynamic range, and system supervision and monitoring of all core functions. The NetMax N8000 includes the company's IRIS-Net audio control platform, which enables users to choose between distributed and central processing. HDMI matrix

Gefen's 4x4 HDMI Matrix is designed to connect and distribute multiple media sources such as DVD players, DVRs, and satellite signals to multiple high-definition displays. The unit supports HDMI- and HDCP-compliant video with resolutions up to 1080p along with up to eight channels of digital audio carried in the same connector. Seamless switcher

The Eagle 100 seamless switcher from FSR includes eight analog video inputs, one standard-definition SDI input (HD-SDI input on the Eagle 100 HD model), and one DVI input. The switcher supports computer resolutions up to 1600x1200, high-definition resolutions up to 1080p, and digital cinema. It offers built-in picture-in-picture windows with borders and drop shadows, colorization and strobe effects, and a 10-bit luminance key. Price: N/A (both models). LCD monitors

Mitsubishi has introduced the MDT321S (32-inch), the MDT402S (40-inch, pictured here), and the MDT461S (46-inch) LCD monitors. Targeted for use in meeting rooms, videoconferencing applications, and tiled videowalls, the monitors offer WXGA (1366x768) resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Speaker processor

Designed to function as a distributed system processor or standalone device, the SP2060 speaker processor from Yamaha features two XLR analog inputs, an AES/EBU digital input, and six XLR analog outputs. The processor is available with Yamaha's editor management software, which enables editing, data management, and remote control from a computer. Audio signal transmitter

The S-port audio signal transmitter from Flying Mole Electronics supplies DC power to drive amplification to speaker units. According to the company, the transmitter is designed to enable synthesized, non-deteriorating transmission of audio signals up to 330 feet. The transmitter operates with almost all pre-existing wiring. Because audio signals are synthesized on the electrical current, dedicated audio lines aren't necessary, according to the company. Intelix has released the HDMI Balun, which distributes high-quality HDMI signals up to 150 feet over dual structured twisted pair cables such as Cat5. The balun consists of a send unit, a receive unit, an HDMI patch cord, and a power supply. The balun supports standard HDTV resolutions and is HDCP-compliant. Audio mixers

Designed for live music venues and multi-speaker fixed installation applications, the EPM mixer line from Soundcraft includes the EPM6 (six mono inputs), the EPM8 (eight mono inputs), and the EPM12 (12 mono inputs, pictured here). The mixers feature two global pre/post-switchable auxiliary buses, XLR-type and 1/4-inch main connectors, and RCA phono connectors for disc and stereo playback inputs and record outputs. Extron's MGP 464 is a four-window, multi-graphic processor designed for picture-in-picture display of high-resolution computer video graphics and HDTV and PAL/NTSC video sources in command & control, videoconferencing, and network operations applications. The processor supports up to 19 input sources and features a true 19x4 input matrix switcher, which enables any source to be displayed in any or all of the four available onscreen windows. Projection screens

Da-Lite's Tensioned Cosmopolitan Electrol projection screens are available in seamless sizes up to 14 feet by 14 feet in seven different screen surfaces. The screens feature a two-piece, aluminum extruded case with a removable access panel and adjustable mounting brackets for wall- and ceiling-mount installations. Classroom management software

Smart Technologies has introduced version 6.0 of its SynchronEyes classroom management software, which enables teachers and administrators to simultaneously monitor each student's screen individually or view multiple screens as thumbnails. The software features a wireless support option that enables teachers to monitor students from anywhere on the network. Powered stage monitor

The SML-12A from D.A.S. Audio is a bi-amplified, two-way, vented system designed for use as a stage monitor or portable PA when used with its standard pole-mount and M-10 flying points. The monitor features a 500 W Class D amplifier for its low-frequency section and a 100 W Class A/B amplifier for its high-frequency driver. The unit's low-frequency section includes a high-efficiency, 12-inch speaker with a 3-inch voice coil and neodymium magnet structure, while the high-frequency section includes a neodymium magnet compression driver with a 1.5-inch exit and a 3-inch titanium diaphragm. Whirlwind's CO2a CobraNet-based, two-channel output module accepts digital audio in a CobraNet distributed audio system. The module uses offers two output level ranges: +20 dB to +6 dB and +6 dB to -4 dB at digital, full-scale input. Power amplifier

Targeted for use in large-venue concert tours, musical performance halls, and festivals, the TA4000 power amplifier from TCS Audio provides 2,000 W per channel (4,000 W bridged) at 4 ohms. The amplifier features Class AB topology, TCS Audio's Constant Thermal Monitoring technology, and parallel-linked XLR connectors for cascading multiple amplifiers. Modular arrays

Designed for small- to medium-sized venues such as nightclubs and houses of worship, the EMMA 406, EMMA 606, and EMMA 806 two-way, line source configuration speaker module arrays from A-Line Acoustics feature 6-inch low-frequency (LF) drivers and 6-inch high-frequency (HF) ribbon drivers. The EMMA 406 features four LF and HF drivers that produce 120 dB maximum SPL with a 100 Hz to 19 kHz frequency response. The EMMA 606 offers six LF and HF drivers that produce a 125 dB maximum SPL with a 90 Hz to 19 kHz frequency response. Loudspeakers

Atlas Sound's AH6565CD and AH9040CD are large-format, constant directivity loudspeaker horns designed for use in large-venue applications. The AH6565CD (pictured here) offers a square coverage pattern (65 degrees horizontal by 65 degrees vertical) and is designed for down-firing applications, while the AH9040CD provides a shorter throw and a wider coverage pattern (90 degrees horizontal by 40 degrees vertical) for applications where speakers are needed in close proximity to a crowd. Motorized projector mounts

Draper has introduced the Phantom and Orbiter universal, above-ceiling, motorized projector mounts. The Phantom (pictured here) is mounted into the framework above the ceiling, and when activated, a trapdoor lowers the projector into the room using an actuator with preset limits. Omnidirectional microphones

DPA Microphones has introduced the 4090 and 4091 omnidirectional condenser, stand-mounted microphones. Designed for use with 48 V, phantom-powered systems, both models operate with voltages down to a minimum of 5 V without changes in performance, according to the company. The 4090 features a 23 dBA noise floor, 20 mV/Pa sensitivity, and a 134 dB peak SPL. The 4091 offers a 26 dBA noise floor, 6 mV/Pa sensitivity, and a 144 dB speak SPL. Price: N/A (both models). Flat-panel wall mount accessory

Chief Manufacturing's PAC-500 large in-wall, swing arm mount accessory is designed to flush-mount flat-panel TVs that measure 37 to 65 inches diagonal and weigh up to 200 pounds. The accessory's in-wall structure is mounted directly between studs surrounding the mount, so the company's PNR and PWR swing arm mounts can remain hidden until angled or pulled out. EtherSound interfaces

Targeted for use in installed sound and live touring applications, Digigram's ES881, ES1241, and ES16161 rack-mount AES/EBU-to-EtherSound interfaces convert digital audio sources to the EtherSound network. The ES881 offers four stereo AES/EBU inputs and outputs and D-sub connectors. The ES1241 features two stereo AES/EBU inputs, six stereo AES/EBU outputs, and XLR connectors on the digital audio inputs and outputs. The ES16161 includes eight stereo AES/EBU inputs and outputs and XLR connectors on the digital audio inputs and outputs. Digital signage software

The CoolSign 3.0 digital signage software from Clarity Visual Systems is designed to support large-scale digital signage systems in retail, financial service, transportation, and gaming applications. The software enables an unlimited number of displays to play tailored content in multiple formats including JPEG, TIFF, Flash, MPEG-1, MPEG-4, Windows Media 9, and high-definition. Self-powered loudspeakers

L-Acoustics has introduced the 108P and 112P self-powered coaxial loudspeakers. Aimed at live sound reinforcement, the 108P (pictured here) is a bi-amplified, digitally processed, full-range loudspeaker consisting of a 1-inch exit, high-frequency compression driver coaxially loaded into an 8-inch, low-frequency transducer. Its two-channel power amplifier module delivers 450 W continuous power into 4 ohms. Designed for use in touring and fixed installations, the 112P features a 1.4-inch exit compression driver and a 12-inch transducer. Its mono-bridged power amplifier module provides 1,000 W continuous power into 8 ohms. The 108P includes a pole-mount socket and optional U-bracket, while the 112P features pole-mount sockets, side-mounted fly track sections, and an optional adjustable U-bracket or vertical coupling adapter. Fiber optic transmitter/receiver

Designed to transmit RGB resolutions up to UXGA and stereo audio over two single-mode or multimode fibers, the Pure Digital Fiberlink 7250 Series from Communications Specialties includes transmitter and receiver units. The 7250 Series, which features all digital processing and transmission, operates at a 1,310 nm wavelength. It supports HDTV resolutions of 480p, 720p, and 1080i/p (RGBHV format only). Targeted for use in military, digital signage, and satellite imaging applications, the 7250's new design feature enables the two fibers to be cross-connected without affecting system operation, according to the company. Mounting system

Lowell's LPT Series Pull and Turn mounting system for built-in wall and millwork applications features four slides for pull-out access to rack-mounted equipment. The system's pushbutton lock and release enables the rack to rotate 60 to 90 degrees on a turntable. Wireless microphone system

The 3000 Series true diversity wireless microphone system from Audio-Technica is a 200-channel, frequency-agile system targeted for use in touring, public address, and house of worship applications. The system features an automatic frequency scanning function that determines and sets the best available frequency (open channel) in multi-system setups to prevent interference and intermodulation. Wireless mic system

The 900ix wireless infrared (IR), four-channel microphone system from LightSpeed Technologies enables users to simultaneously operate lavalier and handheld microphones. The system consists of a transmitter, a receiver, and up to 12 wall/ceiling-mounted IR sensors for increased range in large-venue applications. It offers a 100 Hz to 12 kHz (±3 dB) frequency response with a dynamic range greater than 80 dB and 2.06/2.54 MHz IR carrier frequencies. Price: Systems start at $1,349. Network audio platform

Symetrix has introduced SymNet Designer 6.0, which adds acoustic echo canceling (AEC) functionality to the company's SymNet Network Audio DSP platform. Three AEC software modules, which perform at different bandwidths for teleconferencing, videoconferencing, or wideband conferencing, are available. Version 6.0 can run up to eight channels of AEC in any SymNet DSP device. The application also includes a control string output module, which enables the system to issue serial string commands to outboard devices over RS232. ETA Systems has introduced the DPC-20NA, a rack-mount, isolation transformer-based power line conditioner. Rated at 20 amps (2.4 kVA), the unit is designed to power 120 V systems. Acoustical treatment products

Acoustical Solutions' AlphaResilient Isolation Chips and AudioSeal Sound Barrier acoustical treatment products are designed to achieve high sound transmission class ratings with new or existing wall, ceiling, or floor construction. When used together, the products reach an STC rating of 58 and add 1 7/8 inches of thickness to a surface, according the company. The AudioSeal is a limp-mass material made of high-temperature-fused vinyl without lead fillers. The AlphaResilient Isolation Chips decouple the wall construction, floating the drywall off the studs. Microphone boom arm

Audix Microphone Corp. has introduced the MicroBoom, a 50-inch carbon fiber boom arm designed to attach to any microphone stand for use in choir miking and presentation applications. The upper end of the unit features a mini-XLR connector. The boom arm includes internal Mogami cable and terminates in a mini-XLR male connector. Price: $549 to $619, depending on configuration. Balanced line receiver

Designed to be mounted to a wall plate, AudioControl Industrial's BVR-25 balanced line receiver fits into a single-gang wall box. The line receiver, which receives signals from Cat5 cable via two RJ45 connectors, is designed to work with the company's line of balanced line sending units. The receiver supports 480, 720, and 1080 high-bandwidth video signals and outputs component video and digital audio. Neutrik has introduced the HD Series Chassis Connectors and HD Series Cable Connectors. The chassis connectors are sealed male XLR-type connectors designed for outdoor weatherproofing and industrial applications. Both connector lines offer three-, four-, and five-pole XLR-type connectors, while the cable connectors are available in male and female versions. The HD chassis connectors offer stainless steel shells and gold contacts, and IP65 protection, which provides water-, dirt-, and dust-resistant connection when used with the HD cable connectors. Digital audio console

Full-range loudspeakers

Targeted for use in houses of worship, auditoriums, and performing arts centers, the Bose Panaray LT 9403 and LT6403 full-range loudspeakers feature a 15-inch, low-frequency woofer, a V2 mid-frequency driver, and a 1-inch, high-frequency compression driver. The speakers have a 50 Hz to 16 kHz (±3 dB) frequency response with 500 W passive, long-term power handling and 94 dB sensitivity. The LT 9403 features a 90-degree horizontal by 40-degree vertical coverage pattern, while the LT6403 provides a 60-degree horizontal by 40-degree vertical coverage pattern. Price: N/A (both models). Designed for flush-mounting to walls, the SP850 features a 2-inch wall mounting unit that conceals all hardware. The mount offers 10.5 inches of extension and 45 degrees of swivel and integrated tilt. Digital signal processors

Mackie has introduced the Quad EQ and Quad Comp/Gate live sound digital signal processors. The Quad EQ (pictured here) four-channel, 30-band digital graphic equalizer combines SIA Software's Smaart real-time analysis (RTA) and an SPL meter. It includes a pink noise generator and 31 bi-color LED ladders for simultaneous viewing of RTA and EQ settings. The Quad Comp/Gate includes an intuitive user interface and four channels of compression/limiting and expansion/gating. Power amplifiers

Dynacord has introduced the Power H Series H 2500 and H 5000 power amplifiers. The 2RU amplifiers feature the company's microprocessor controlled comparator circuit, which provides maximum dynamic capability while limiting THD to less than 1 percent, according to the company.
