MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS

My Pick: Juice Goose PD1 Series commercial power distribution strip; customizable base systems range from $119 to $299

What I Like About It: There are three key things that make the Juice Goose PD1 power distribution strips stand out. First, the product meets the quality standards we require for our systems. The systems we build and the customers we support demand the highest quality possible, and the PD1 series meets those requirements. Second, this product line can be completely customized directly from the manufacturer. They fit our customer’s needs right out of the box, saving time and money. And lastly, the folks at Juice Goose provide excellent service and support. When you place an order, it’s always correct and on time.

I Would Change: Although there isn’t much I would change about the product, it would be helpful if Juice Goose developed a mounting bracket that would enable two strips to be mounted in the same equipment rack, without taking up a lot of space. This has been a problem for us in the past. If we have more equipment in one rack than a single strip can support, the large mounting bracket taken up by a single strip doesn’t always leave enough room to add a second strip to the rack.

Where I Used It: I used the PD1 power distribution strips in a large digital signage project in several retail malls in the southern California area, where power failure wasn’t an option.

My Results: I use the PD1 power distribution strips in almost all of our custom equipment racks. Because of the PD1 line’s flexibility in design and UL listing, I’m able to use it as our primary power distribution solution. I recently used the PD1A strip in a substantial digital signage project where our client is selling advertisements on large plasma displays in malls around the country. This product was a good choice, because our client’s revenue is based on the dependability of a complete system. If our clients installed system experiences any loss of power, they immediately begin to lose revenue. For this reason, it is imperative that a quality product is used.

In this case, the Juice Goose PD1 power distribution strip worked great for me. You rarely find products that meet all the requirements for most of your applications, and also fit your budget. But this is the case with the PD1 product line. The Juice Goose PD1 is a solid, fully customizable product that meets the needs of most of our inner rack applications.
