HOW OFTEN DO YOU READ WHAT WE’RE RUNNING ON PAGE 8? That’s our editorial masthead and it lays out who’s responsible for the stories you’re about to read. This issue, the masthead is a little bigger and a lot more impressive. It includes our newly appointed all-volunteer Editorial Advisory Board. With the AV industry changing the way it is, information technology touching almost everything you do, and new technologies clamoring for attention, PRO AV decided it was crucial to stay grounded in the everyday challenges our readers face. What better way to do that than include AV professionals in our planning, brainstorming, and reporting? Several of these distinguished pros have contributed to PRO AV in the past (and present). Let’s meet them:

Tim Cape, CTS-D, a one-time PRO AV columnist, is chairman of the Independent Consultants in AV Technologies Council for InfoComm International. He co-wrote InfoComm’s Audiovisual Best Practices.

Kelly McCarthy, CTS, sits on the Board of Directors for NSCA. He calls himself a former musician who is now “part of the establishment.”

Brad Nelson, C-EST, CET, also sits on the NSCA Board, having served on the organization’s Regional Council and Education Committee.

Jay Paul, CTS, is vice president of engineering and quality assurance at the newly merged AVI-SPL. The combined company has more than 20,000 installations to its credit.

Tom Peters, CTS, has served as chairman of the InfoComm Board of Governors. He is currently on the steering committee for InfoComm’s Systems Integration Leadership Council.

Pete Putman, CTS, ISF, is a PRO AV contributing editor and columnist. He’s a longtime AV writer, editor, and publisher, as well as InfoComm instructor.

We’re pleased to have these experts on-board, helping us make PRO AV a must-read information resource. As always, let us know how we’re doing.

In PRO AV’s March 2008 story “The Perfect Blend” about conference room design, a photo was incorrectly credited. The Hearst Corp. conference room, pictured on page 32, was photographed by Oleg March and integrated by CMS Innovative Consultants of Melville, N.Y. (www.cmsav.com).
