Polycom expanded its telepresence portfolio to meet a wider range of customer application and network requirements, the company said, by enhancing its RealPresence Experience (RPX) and Polycom Telepresence Experience (TPX) immersive telepresence solutions with support for 1080p and broadcast-quality 720p (60 fps) HD video quality.

“Visual communication is not one size fits all, [so we now] offer customers a range of fully integrated solutions for video-enabling their organizations and tailoring the technology to meet specific application needs and network requirements,” said Joe Sigrist, senior vice president and general manager of video solutions at Polycom, in a statement. “Our standards-based approach and ability to work alongside any call management platform and within any network infrastructure environment gives customers greater flexibility, faster return on investment, and better long-term investment protection.”

Already available in Polycom’s RMX 2000 and HDX 8000 series (starting at $17,500), support for 1080p and broadcast-quality 720p is now available for the RPX and TPX solutions.
