I’m currently working on a sports bar project where the owner wants to install a distributed audio system that allows customers to select the content they want to listen to. A. There are several manufacturers that produce products that serve this function. For this specific application, I would look at the Sprox SD4 Sounddog receiver. The SD4 is a four-channel receiver that operates in the 72 to 76 MHz band and has a 29-hour replaceable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery. The receiver, along with its low power transmitter, will enable the bar owner to broadcast up to four sources to a tabletop unit, which will provide patrons with source selection and master volume control.

Next month’s question: I have a client who has adjacent rooms with serious crosstalk problems.
