QSC welcomed industry veteran Perry Celia as the company's new director of U.S. sales in the western region, while congratulating Bob Lee of the company's Tech Services Group in Costa Mesa, Calif., on his election as Audio Engineering Society (AES) secretary.

Perry Celia

Celia comes to his new position following a career path marked by stops at JBL, where he served as director of eastern sales; independent rep firm Sound Marketing West, where he was a vice president and principal; and Alesis Corp., where he also served as director of eastern sales.

"I couldn't think of a better time to make this move in my life," said Celia in a statement. "QSC is clearly positioned at an important crossroads in its history, and it's great to be part of this team."

Bob Lee

Lee fulfilled a technical marketing role at QSC prior to joining the Tech Services Group. Prior to his time in Costa Mesa, he was a tech support specialist at Crest Audio and served a stint at Sennheiser as an applications engineer specializing in wireless microphones. During his past two years as AES vice president for the western United States and Canada, he helped launch the society's new professional section in the Sacramento Valley and revitalized student sections in locations such as Long Beach City College.

Lee officially took on the role of secretary shortly after the 125th AES Convention in San Francisco. "Some people say that the secretary actually runs the AES," Lee said. "I hope they are exaggerating. Based upon my time in office so far, I'm finding I have plenty to do already."
