Revolabs, which makes wireless audio products, introduced the Executive HD wireless microphone system for the pro AV market.

According to the company, the Executive HD system provides the sound fidelity of wired microphones with the versatility of a wireless setup. “High-definition” audio clarity and a full 50 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response are enabled by Revolabs’ DFS22 audio processing. The new system can handle live sound, voice reinforcement, recording, and wideband video- or audio-conferencing applications. The DFS22’s “Designed for Speech” technology can improve the intelligibility and presence of reproduced speech, company officials said.

“We’ve brought the acoustic qualities of wired mics into a conference room setting without the cumbersome wires,” said Martin Bodley, CEO of Revolabs, in a statement. “The capabilities of the new system are such that if someone were to break out in song during a meeting, the Executive HD can handle it.”

Other features of the Executive HD wireless microphone system include support for greater microphone density (up to 24 mics in the U.S., 32 mics outside the U.S.), remote status/control/SW upgrades over network connections, and RF Armor technology that makes the mics resistant to GSM noise from cell phones, PDAs, and other mobile devices.

“Wide-band audio improves the user experience and is quickly becoming the de facto standard in the videoconferencing arena,” said Ira Weinstein, a senior analyst and partner at research firm Wainhouse Research, in a prepared statement. “With its support for 22 kHz wide-band audio, the Revolabs Executive HD system allows organizations to enjoy the exceptional audio performance offered by the current generation of videoconferencing solutions.”

The Executive HD will be available as either a four- or eight-microphone system when it begins shipping next month.
