Sanyo unveiled the PLC-XF71, a two-lamp professional-grade 3LCD projector that offers 10,000 lumens with a contrast ratio of 3,000:1.

The 1024×768-resolution PLC-XF71 incorporates a three-mirror design to reach uniform light output from two lamps, reduce color irregularities, and deliver high-quality 4:3 images, according to the company. The PLC-XF71 features the Durable Inorganic Optical System (DIOS) with heat- and UV-resistant optical components. It also includes the company’s Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) system, which automatically detects airflow and advances clean filter material as needed, for less maintenance and increased reliability.

“This two-lamp projector is bright enough to use in large auditoriums, stage events, or any other venue that requires a projector that can emit a good deal of light,” said Mark Holt, vice president and general manager for Sanyo’s Presentation Technologies Division, in a statement.

The PLC-XF71 is compatible with WUXGA, UXGA, SXGA+, SXGA, WXGA, XGA, SVGA, VGA, and MAC computers. Inputs include RGB (d-Sub-15), Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr (BNCx5) and S-Video, and DVI-D. Other input configurations are available with optional accessories. A USB service port is provided, along with an RS-232 communications port for use with external control systems.

The Sanyo PLC-XF71 begins shipping this month with an MSRP of $16,995.
