SIGNET’S Vigneau Earns Elite Certifications
A project engineer at communications and security systems provider SIGNET Electronic Systems earned two technical certifications that place him in an elite category.
Jay Vigneau, a project engineer at New England-based communications and security systems provider SIGNET Electronic Systems, earned two technical certifications that place him in an elite category of electronic systems technicians nationwide.
Vigneau completed the requirements of training and examinations to become both a Certified Electronic Systems Technician (C-EST) and a Certified Technology Specialist-Installation (CTS-I). According to the trade organizations sponsoring the programs, fewer than 200 individuals currently hold either of these certificates.
“As a technology-based business, we feel it’s important that our employees stay ahead of the technology curve and that is why we make a financial commitment to continuing education and training. We congratulate Jay on this remarkable achievement,” said Bradford Caron, executive vice president of SIGNET Electronic Systems, which funded Vigneau efforts.
The C-EST certification, sponsored by the NSCA, requires an applicant to have four or more years of experience as a systems technician, installer, engineer, project manager, or estimator. Earned by passing a 100-question written exam and a performance exam, the certification is held by 133 individuals, according the NSCA.
The CTS-I certification is awarded by InfoComm International and requires at least two years of experience installing and maintaining AV systems, and previous certification as a CTS. According to InfoComm, 180 individuals are certified.
