Sony Announces New Ultra-slim Projectors

Sony announced the introduction of the VPL-CX21 and VPL-CS21 lightweight projectors, designed for mobile users in business or school environments. The new models, which replace the VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20, hold a prestigious iF design award for their stylish and ultra-slim chassis.
At a height of just 52mm and weighing only 1.9kg, these projectors are easy to carry and perfect for people on the move. In fact, the footprint of these models is smaller than an A4-sized sheet of paper.
Despite their small size, both projectors deliver outstanding image quality. The VPL-CX21 has XGA native resolution (1024×768) and the VPL-CS21 has SVGA native resolution (800×600). Both have a brightness level of 2100 ANSI lumens and are based on 3LCD technology, which uses three LCD panels (separate panels for red, green, and blue) to deliver bright, natural images and superb colors.
The VPL-CX21 and VPL-CS21 include several features that are designed to help the user quickly achieve the perfect picture. As well as six preset projection modes which alter the contrast, brightness, and color hue, the models offer Advanced Intelligent Auto Setup and Auto Focus so that the projector will literally set itself up when the ‘on’ button is pressed. Off & Go enables the user to unplug the projector immediately after use as the fan will continue to cool the unit after the power supply has been removed.
For additional convenience, both projectors come with a credit card-style remote commander. Security features such as the password protection system can be switched on to block access and ensure the projector is safe from unauthorised use. Both the VPL-CX21 and VPL-CS21 allow a screen size up to 300in., and the short focus lens enables this even in smaller rooms. Both models are ceiling mountable.
