Vizio Adds Mid-size Java Displays

Vizio introduced four full HD 1080p LCD flat-panel displays in 32-inch and 37-inch sizes. The VOJ370F and the VOJ320F are the first of the company’s exclusive decor-colored Java product line, with colored bezel and stand treatments that integrate with contemporary styled homes. Vizio also released two competitively priced full HD models based on the VO series: the VO32LF-32 LCD and the VO37LF-37 LCD.
“By bringing full HD 1080p resolution to smaller screen sizes, but at considerably lower price points than competitors, Vizio is making affordable 1080p flat-panel TVs available to consumers with space limitations,” said Paul Gagnon of DisplaySearch/NPD, in a statement. “In addition, Vizio is keying on a growing trend among design-conscious consumers with the Java series, emphasizing style and design along with performance and function.”
Research firm iSuppli expects the full HD penetration to reach 29 percent for North America LCD TVs in 2008, growing at a compounded rate of 36 percent between now and 2012.
According to Vizio officials, the new displays are priced to compete in today’s challenging economy. The decor-color Java VOJ370F 37-inch LCD and VOJ320F 32-inch LCD sets offer PIP/POP viewing, 1920×1080 native resolution, a 6,500:1 contrast ratio with DCR, 6.5ms refresh rates, a 178-degree viewing angle, and 500 nits brightness.
The updated VO series 37-inch VO37LF and 32-inch VO32LF LCD sets also provide full HD 1920×1080 native resolution, a 6,500:1 contrast ratio with DCR, 6.5ms refresh rates, 178-degree viewing angle, and 500 nits brightness.
All four models have three HDMI v1.3 inputs, two on the rear panel and a third on the HD Game port on the side of the set. Both 37-inch models are priced at $850, while the 32-inch models are $650.
