The QSC Audio WideLine-8 ultra-compact line-array system measures less than 20in. wide and 9in. high. Each tri-amplified WideLine-8 element uses a pair of high-power, neodymium magnet, 8in. low-frequency drivers. Both cover low frequencies while only one extends into the midrange, thus maintaining horizontal dispersion control at crossover. High frequencies are handled by a premium, 3in.-diaphragm, neodymium compression driver mounted to QSC's patented 140-degree, multiple-aperture diffraction waveguide. WideLine's signature wide coverage delivers a broader stereo image, reduces the need for supplemental fill speakers, and allows more placement options.

The Aviom 6416dio provides 16 channels of digital inputs and outputs to and from a Pro64 A-Net audio network in a single 2RU package using the AES3 format. The input and output sections of the 6416dio module can be independently configured to operate within a specified 16-channel A-Net slot range for maximum versatility. Input and output port assignments for manual mode are also independently configurable. Each channel of a 6416dio can be made active on the Pro64 audio network as needed. The digital module also includes I/O for Aviom's virtual data cables, which can be used to simultaneously distribute up to 14 channels of non-audio control data to any device on the Pro64 network.

JBL Professional adds the VP7210/95DP and VP7212MDP to its Venue Performance series lineup — powered, two-way integrated loudspeaker systems featuring 1750W of peak output power and onboard digital signal processing. The VP7210/95DP is a 10in. system using JBL's 2260FF 10in.-diameter Differential Drive woofer and the JBL 2452H-SL compression driver, which is coupled to a JBL PT-D95HF Progressive Transition waveguide for 90°×50° pattern control, smooth frequency response, and low distortion. The VP7212MDP, designed specifically as a high-impact stage monitor, is a 12in. system using JBL's 2262FF 12in.-diameter Differential Driver woofer and the JBL 2452H-SL compression driver. The system features a baffle, which can be reversed in the field and configured for left or right applications.

The Clockaudio CW9004 is based on the same platform as the CW9000 and CW9001, but the CW9004 features 192 selectable frequencies in the UHF band and can accommodate up to 24 systems working simultaneously (location permitting). The base is fitted with a membrane mute switch with an LED indicator. It offers a choice between flexible, semi-rigid, and rigid gooseneck microphones, in a cardioid or hypercardioid polar pattern. A version with a built-in omnidirectional capsule is also available (CW9005).

Yamaha has made the DME series version 3 firmware upgrade available for all Yamaha DME digital mixing engines as a free download. The version 3 upgrade allows advanced audio systems to be designed and implemented via a comprehensive computer interface. New features that will be especially useful in the house of worship and corporate presentation markets include an auto gain control component that automatically compensates for variations in the level of a speaker's voice; Auto Mixer II, which provides an override function; and automatic output level control, useful in applications that do not require the presence of an experienced audio operator.

A free EASE 4.2 upgrade is available from Ahnert Feistel Media Group (AFMG) and its worldwide distributor, Renkus-Heinz, to EASE 4.0 or 4.1 licensees via the help menu, on CD-ROM, or via Internet download. EASE 4.2 includes major enhancements to the three central EASE functions: modeling, auralization, and mapping. A new two-user license makes it easier for individuals or partnerships to access the full feature set of EASE and lowers the cost of entry into EASE 4.2 by more than 40 percent. EASE software and associated modules and programs such as EASERA are available for purchase online at www.renkus-heinz.com/ease/purchase/purchase.html.

Version 1.1 of the Symetrix Integrator Series Zone Mix 760 paging and music management system builds on the original 760 design, increasing the number of presets from 10 to 50. Direct keyboard entry has been enabled for all numeric fields. Level control has been improved with the introduction of finer resolution on the faders. Numeric resolution of the main faders is no longer rounded to the nearest 0.5dB. As with the original, the 1.1 version offers 23 inputs (including four microphone and eight stereo line level) and six outputs. It features microphone preamplification, compression, AGC, matrix mixing, paging, feedback elimination, filters and equalization, and ambient noise compensation within 1RU.
