Pragmatic Communications Systems announces an improvement from its original PADS system. The PH-16 is an 16-output hub for audio distribution over Cat5 cables from any Pragmatic PADS PT or PTI transmitter. It distributes line-level stereo audio to the rooms while simultaneously sending power for the amps on the same cable. The PH-16 feeds up to 16 rooms and can expand infinitely with a loop output. It’s compatible with both the PA-15R and the PA-15KP in-wall amplifiers with rotary or keypad volume controls. The hub is designed for use in residential or commercial audio applications; pair it with PTS-1 tube speakers for background music systems, or use the hub’s features for residential intercom systems and music distribution. The PADS system works well for retrofit applications because there is no rewiring — it runs off pre-existing Cat5 cables. The PH-16 also comes as a four-output unit. Pricing: $1,449.99.
