AMX has begun distributing AMXmeetingroom, a configuration tool loaded onto the company’s Modero touch panels that automatically configures meeting or conference room control systems through a series of wizard-based questions. AMX plans to demonstrate the tool with the Enova DVX-2100HD, the HydraPort, and other products next week at InfoComm in Las Vegas.

“AMXmeetingroom is definitely going to change the way our integrators run their businesses in a good way,” said Rashid Skaf, AMX president and CEO, in a statement. “Now integrators will be able to complete multiple installations with greater consistency, reliability, and efficiency than before.”

The AMXmeetingroom tool configures a control system, generates system configuration files, adds source device modules, updates program files already loaded on the AMX NetLinx central controller, and updates the user interface on the Modero touch panel. With AMXmeetingroom, a user with limited technical proficiency should be able to install a control system in less time than would be required by an experienced programmer, says the company.

“AMXmeetingroom redefines the installation workflow as it takes the programming out of conference room AV while reducing the installation process from an average of 40 hours per room to two,” said AMX chief technology officer Robert Noble, in a statement.
