At last month’s InfoComm Asia, Analog Way, which makes image converters and presentation switchers, unveiled Smart Edge, a high-resolution seamless switcher with dual-output edge blending. The system includes universal analog and digital I/Os and full high-resolution digital processing, company officials said.

Smart Edge offers 10 universal analog inputs, including two fitted with DVI and two with HD-SDI. With its 100-percent digital processing, Smart Edge outputs digital and analog signals in SDI, DVI, and VGA (RGBHV). It support formats from HDTV to computer 2K in order to match the resolution of your display device.

Smart Edge allows users to create wide blended screens either horizontally or vertically. One unit will handle two video projectors. Multiscreen edge blending can be achieved by linking up to three Smart Edge units, resulting in panoramic images from up to six video projectors without any loss of synchronization. In addition, Smart Edge offers true seamless transitions with cut, fade, wipe, and slide. A downstream keying function is available to add titles.

“Smart Edge was specifically designed for soft edge blending applications where simplicity and affordability are essential.” said Franck Facon, marketing and communications director at Analog Way, in a statement. “Smart Edge is the ideal solution for large venues or events requiring a high-quality and user-friendly system to create beautiful wide pictures for less.”

Smart Edge can be controlled from its own front panel as well as from RK-300, TRK-800, Axion2, and Orchestra remote consoles, and from the Analog Way computer software provided with the unit. Equipped with TCP/IP and RS-232, Smart Edge can be updated with new features and functions over time.

Analog Way said it will ship Smart Edge in Q1 2011.
