Aurora Multimedia is debuting the first product in its next generation of WACI control processors, the WACI NX-22. Company officials say is offers improved processing capabilities and is the first control processor to provide integrated Bluetooth microphone capability for voice-lift applications. The WACI NX-22 also has a built-in audio player with volume control to enable internal management of audio mixing, voice over IP, and intercom and paging systems.

“Our customers are looking for unique solutions that provide increased functionality at a lower price point, without sacrificing overall product quality,” said Paul Harris, Aurora Multimedia’s CEO, in a statement. “In addition to being the first control processor to offer our patent-pending integrated Bluetooth mic integration, as we are a registered Bluetooth adopter, the unit features a number of improved capabilities.”

Aurora’s Web Accessible Control Interface (WACI) is a non-proprietary IP control system, native network device that can operate seamlessly on an Ethernet network, according to the company. The system is accessible through any Web browser running on a wired or wireless Ethernet network and requires no special software. The processor is set up using Aurora’s free YIPI software as well as standard Web-authoring tools.

The WACI NX-22 can complement an AV system or serve as the heart of a global, networked asset management and control system. It has its own resources, thereby avoiding the slow performance and bottlenecks caused by shared systems, say Aurora officials

The Aurora WACI Offline Windows Editor (WOWE) allows programmers to create libraries of Event Manager functions on a PC and save and transfer them from job to job.

The WACI NX-22 provides two serial, IR, relay, and I/O ports and will be available in July 2009 at an MSRP of $899.
