This week at InfoComm 2010, Aurora Multimedia announced it will launch several new in-wall touch panels, matrix switchers, and software updates.

The new NXT-350, NXT-470, NXT-700, and NXT-700V are the latest additions to the Aurora hybrid in-wall touch panels. The 3.5-, 4.7-, and 7.0-inch panels feature built-in serial, IR, I/O, and relay control ports, and a WACI engine. As part of the NXT series, they also have line I/O audio for volume control and MP3 playback. Additionally, the NXB-100 Voice-Lift option can be added to allow for Bluetooth wireless headsets to be used as wireless microphones for the system.

The NXT series also boasts Power over Ethernet (PoE) and low power consumption. The NXT-700V has a full scaler built in for previewing HDMI, RGBHV, YPbPr, S-Video, and Composite sources. It can also handle resolutions up to 1080p and includes special effects such as translucent PIP. The NXT-350 is designed to fit in a standard two-gang electrical box, while the NXT-470 fits in a standard three-gang electrical box. The NXT-700 has a custom back box designed for most walls and podiums.

Aurora’s new Aspyre series matrix and extenders route HD video sources with HDCP and multi-channel digital audio (up to 7.1 channel) from a variety of sizes (4×4, 8×8, 16×16, and 36×36) simultaneously. The Cat-5/6 extenders are available in one- and two-cable versions (ASP-CATx1 and ASP-CATx2) to accommodate the type of installation. According to the company, the Aspyre series is well suited for use in residential, commercial, education, and digital signage applications. Other features include default HDMI EDID, RS-232 and IR control, Ethernet control with optional WACI Nugget, and front-panel control for easy switching and presets. The series comes in 1RU through 4RU units, depending on model, and includes mounting ears.

The new VTune Pro HD is a tuning solution for integrated systems that require legacy NTSC tuning or ATSC/QAM capability. The tuner also is LAN addressable and IPTV-ready, capable of decoding MPEG2, MPEG4, and H.264. RS-232 command sets provide two-way communication via traditional control systems, but the tuner also provides IP-based control for networked arrays of VTunes. Video output ports support Composite video, Component video, RGB, and HDMI sources. Audio is supported via unbalanced RCA connections and SPDIF coaxial digital audio. The VTune Pro HD defines versatility as it can be fit into nearly any integrated system typology.

The Mini-Wall 15.6-inch videowall LCD tiles are new to Aurora Multimedia’s existing DIDO real-time rotation videowall processors. Mini-Wall allows a videowall to fit almost anywhere, but has the processor and media playback engine built into each unit. So far, up to 32 15.6-inch panels can be used together to create videowall patterns, says the company. The media engine can playback HD content and has enough memory for hours of content, the company adds.
