Two national AV firms, PSAV Presentation Services and Xerox Audio Visual Solution, have taken up InfoComm on the AV industry trade association’s effort to provide education curricula to companies in the field.

InfoComm was selected to provide meeting and events training for PSAV. The agreement allows PSAV to train an unlimited number of employees online in InfoComm classes including Essentials of the AV Industry, Event Set Up for AV Techs, and AV Math.

“PSAV is committed to providing our employees the right training tools to expand their knowledge and execute the best possible client experiences,” said Sudi Korba, vice president of human resources at PSAV. “To accomplish this goal, we are excited to partner with InfoComm and utilize components of their exceptional training material.”

“The key to further growth in the live events industry is access to an educated workforce,” said Randal Lemke, Ph.D., executive director and CEO of InfoComm, in a statement. “PSAV’s investment in training represents an investment in their customers and employees, and is bound to pay dividends for many years to come.”

In a separate announcement, InfoComm said it will offer its nine-day CTS-Design (CTS-D) Bootcamp at Xerox Audio Visual Solution’s offices in Norcross, Ga., March 23-31. The session is open to employees of Xerox Audiovisual Solutions and other audiovisual professionals preparing for the CTS-D exam, space permitting, according to the trade association

CTS-D Bootcamp is a compressed program that offers InfoComm’s three design school sessions back-to-back, in order to minimize time away from job sites. The classes covered in the Bootcamp include AV Design Level 1: Environment; AV Design Level 2: Infrastructure; and AV Design Level 3: Applied Design. Attendees earn 72 CTS renewal units upon course completion.

“We are pleased to be able to host the educations program as we have a high regard for the content of this, and InfoComm’s other certification programs,” said Daniel Boylan, president of Xerox Audio Visual Solutions, in a statement. “As a company, we embrace industry training as a key means of enhancing our ability to deal with the constantly changing aspects and products in the AV industry.”

“With more bids requiring audiovisual professionals to hold the CTS-D credential, it makes sense to offer hands-on training in a compressed time period,” said Lemke. “We commend Xerox for commissioning this Bootcamp so southeastern design professionals can train closer to home.”
