At Integrated Systems Europe 2011, Barco announced a new NSL-5521 display for videowalls, as well as a standalone LDX series for control room applications. All of the new LCD displays are based on LED backlighting technology to produce brighter images and a wider color gamut, according to the company, while taking up less space.

Barco NSL-4601

The NSL-5521 is a 55-inch full HD LED-powered display, with RGB LED lights directly behind the panel, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and a maximum brightness level of 700 cd/m². Barco says it has one of the narrowest bezel on the market, measuring just 5.6 mm from pixel-to-pixel on adjacent displays.

The new LDX series is edge-lit, which means the LEDs are positioned around the edges of the screen. This helps make the LDX displays very thin. With a 178-degree viewing angle, a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, and various inputs, including single-link DVI-D in and out and a pair of BNC connectors for HD-SDI connectivity, the new LDX series can act as a complementary of standalone visualization solution for control rooms. The LDX displays are available in screen sizes of 46 and 55 inches in full HD.

All the new Barco LED backlit LCD displays come with Barco Wall Control Manager Software, which enables simple videowall management and configuration, according to the company. When combined with Barco’s CMS control room management software, information can be displayed in the most efficient and transparent way for enhanced decision-making.
