Barco has launched its new CLM-HD6 projector, based on a new platform for the company. It offers 6,000 lumens of light output and full HD resolution for meeting rooms, medium-sized auditoriums, lobbies, and museums, company officials said.

The CLM-HD6 is a single-chip DLP projector with passive circular polarization to support 3D video. It sports a pair of HDMI ports, as well as VGA, composite, and S-Video inputs.

“The CLM-HD6 is an attractive option for customers that want to project in bright HD and need the best quality guarantee at the most comfortable price,” said Chris Colpaert, director of strategic marketing projection at Barco, in a statement. “And due to its power-saving options, redundant lamp system and durable, proven technology, the CLM also offers a negligible total cost of ownership.”

Barco said it drew from its experience with fixed installation applications to design the new projector. “This has allowed us to tailor the CLM’s features to our customers’ needs,” Colpaert said. “The unit accepts various input formats, of which two are HDMI. We took special care in the design to reduce noise levels, and we did not burden the unit with complex features that would frustrate users.”

The unit has a RJ-45 network connection, plus IR and RS-232 control. It supports input formats from NTSC up to UXGA (1600×1200), including HDTV (1920×1080).
