Broadcast to IP: Haivision Torpedo DVB-to-IP gateways
Haivision Network Video introduced the Torpedo family of DVB-to-IP gateways, which can take digital broadcasts and deliver them over IP video networks without re-encoding the content.
HaiVision Network Video’s Torpedo family of DVB-to-IP gateways can take digital broadcasts and deliver them over IP networks without re-encoding the content. The $1,995 Torpedo supports both standard- and high-definition satellite (DVB-S and DVB-S2) and terrestrial (DVB-T) signals. The company says it will also support DVB-T2, an emerging standard for terrestrial HD, early next year. Because broadcast video streams are high-bandwidth, HaiVision also came out with VF Transit technology, which, when combined with Torpedo and HaiVision Furnace devices, can transrate the original streams into streams of varying bandwidths for consumption on a variety of endpoints. 877-224-5445. www.haivision.com.
