Christie’s two newest projectors feature single-chip DLP technology. The Christie DHD700 and Christie DS+750 offer balance between brightness and color, and reliability for 24/7 applications.

“The single-chip Christie DHD700 and Christie DS+750 are an affordable, high-performance alternative to 3-chip projectors,” said Frank Anzures, product manager for Christie, in a statement.

The company says the projectors serve as high-resolution alternatives to XGA and WXGA projectors for fixed installations, government, and higher education. Their functions suit them for multi-image blended displays with 24/7 application requirements or extended use.

The DHD700 emits 6,500 ANSI lumens, while the DS+750 offers 7,500 ANSI lumens. Both offer a contrast ratio of up to 7,500:1 with Dynamic Black. Their 10-bit image processing with DNX Pixel Works video processing delivers high image quality, color depth for high-bandwidth signals, improved image reproduction with reduced noise, and decoding, interlacing, and scaling of video sources.

For compatibility with most computers and video sources, the projectors have scaling or VGA to WUXGA and video up to 1080p. The DS+750 offers SX+ native resolution; the DHD700 has full HD 1920×1080 native scaling.

Both projectors offer built-in edge blending and color matching functions for creating a seamless single display while using an array of projectors. The Picture-in-Picture function allows users to project two input signals simultaneously, by placing a separate sub-window within the main input display.

The projectors’ user-changeable Rich-Color color wheel allows the systems to go from high brightness performance to rich color performance by switching color wheels, the company says. It also provides color reproduction and flexibility Christie claims is not found in other projectors. Multiple lens options are also available.

The DHD700 and DS+750 also have sealed single-chip DLP light engines for minimal maintenance and 24/7 use. An optional extended use Auto-filter protects internal components from contaminants, extending the life of the lamp and color wheel. Both projectors feature dual 330-watt Philips VIDI UHP lamps with an estimated 2,000 hours of life in the normal mode and up to 2,500 hours in eco mode.

Orders are currently being taken for the projectors, which will begin shipping in July.
